True Stories Night – 3rd Edition! Thursday, July 3

Posted by | Uncategorized | No Comments

What's on in July in Brighton

Following the real success of our two previous True Stories Nights, we are holding the 3rd edition on Thursday, July 3 at 8pm.

Many of you came along last month to share a story with us. Howard told us about his incredible near-death experience, Denise scared us with her paranormal background and Peter brought tears to a few eyes by sharing a family story.
On July 3 it can be your turn to share a bit of yourself by getting up and telling us YOUR story, whether it is funny, sad or whatever.

There is no stress as the audience is always friendly and if you need a bit of courage to help you stand up we have all you need behind the bar!

Whether you would like to tell your story or just sit and listen to other people opening up about their own lives, it’s an unusual social event that you really should not miss.

True Story Night – Second Edition!

Posted by | Uncategorized | No Comments

In April we hosted our first True Stories Night and we’re proud to say it was a very entertaining night at Brighton Rocks!

So on Thursday, May 15 we’re inviting you to attend the SECOND EDITION!

What is a True Stories Night? It is just a bunch of people listening to other people telling stories from their own lives.
And of course we have special elixirs on hand to give you the courage to tell your story!

The rules are simples. Your story needs to be about you, preferably told without notes and taking no longer than 10 minutes.

At our first gathering Nikki told us about the time she pretended to be her own twin brother, Sian confessed to stealing a memento from her grandfather and Gary came clean about a dirty trick he once played on a friend. It was all funny, quite moving… and true.

If you would like to share a story on May 15 please email Denise on

We hope to see you all then (and even before!)

True Story Night

True Story Night
True Story night is a bunch of people enjoying a few drinks in a cosy atmosphere, listening to ordinary people telling stories from their own lives.

The concept is simple: let us know in advance that you would like to share a story, then you will have 10 minutes to say your piece (which needs to be true!). We expect you to talk without notes but you will have an interested and supportive audience.

It can be an old adventure, a funny anecdote, a sad memory, or perhaps a bit of all three… come and share yours on Thursday, April 3 at 8pm.

St Patrick’s Day

St Patrick's Day
We already fully stocked with Guinness, Whiskey and Bourbon for Ireland’s National Day.

We’re planning the best tunes (and probably some Celtic classics) for dancing, a face-painting stand and Whiskey and Bourbon cocktails.

Talking about cool stuff, do you have any tricks for making a perfect shamrock on the top of a pint of Guinness?
